Golf du Médoc History and presentation.
The Golf du Medoc, located north from Bordeaux, opened in 1989.
The Chateaux course, technical 18 holes in the pure tradition of Scottish links, were design by American Bill COORE. Native North Carolina & graduate of Wake Forest University, Coore began his professional design and construction career in 1972 with the firm of Pete Dye and Associates. Under the Dyes' guidance, Coore was introduced to the elements of creative design and physical construction. During the succeeding ten years, Coore was involved in the design, construction and maintenance of golf courses.Bill Coore formed his own design company in 1982 and join Ben Crenshaw (past Masters champion) in 1986.
Always looking for quality over quantity and designing only classic and natural golf, in their 20 years together the pair has produced less than 15 original golf courses :

The Vignes course, design by Canadian Rod WHITMAN (Bill COORE assistant during the first course construction) is a typically regional landscape 18 holes.
